This page contains the release notes for each Couch Slouch release.

New Features

  • Added support for macOS 10.14 Mojave, including full support for the Dark appearance. 
  • Couch Slouch now checks to make sure it has accessibility access (required for most remote control features to work) and warns if it does not.
  • Added high-resolution artwork so Couch Slouch looks great on your 4K TV!
  • A general overhaul of the UI to make it look at home in modern macOS.

Bugs Fixed/Changes

  • Couch Slouch now requires macOS 10.10 Yosemite or higher to run.
  • Updated to libcec 4.0.4 for general compatibility improvements and to fix a bug that would cause the CEC adapter to not be detected on macOS 10.14 Mojave.

New Features

  • Added AppleScript commands to Couch Slouch. You can now turn your TV and off and switch the TV to show your Mac as the active source from scripts. For more details, see the Scripting page.

Bugs Fixed/Changes

  • An error is no longer displayed when Couch Slouch started automatically at login.

  • Added support for a number of new remote control buttons, including Guide, List, Channel +/-, Previous Channel (Samsung only), Info, Clear, Text (Philips only) and Subtitle (Philips only).
  • Key bindings can now be imported, exported and deleted to allow them to be shared more easily.

Bugs Fixed/Changes

  • The Play, Pause, Stop and Return remote control buttons are now detected correctly from Samsung TVs.
  • Fixed an issue where Couch Slouch would not correctly reconnect to the CEC adapter after waking from sleep in some circumstances.
  • Updated to libcec 2.1.4 for general compatibility improvements.

Bugs Fixed/Changes

  • Soft-reset USB-CEC adapters that have fallen into "limbo" to bring them back to life, which can happen if the adapter is plugged in at system boot time. We're working with the manufacturer of these devices for a more permanent fix.
  • Couch Slouch will delay system shutdown and sleep to allow Behaviours to complete.
  • Behaviours will be correctly executed when Couch Slouch is launched at system startup.
  • Behaviours will be correctly executed when the system is shut down.
  • Updating Couch Slouch manually from the Preferences sheet will now work correctly.

  • Implemented the Behaviours feature. Couch Slouch can now perform actions when you TV switches on/off and to/from your Mac, as well as when your Mac sleeps, wakes, starts up and shuts down.   • Sleeping your Mac no longer causes Couch Slouch to lose connection with the CEC adapter.
